Ankou
Ankou are known as graveyard keepers (In some cultures considered a play on 'Death'). They have been in the service of the Nobles for a very long time. They are intelligent beings that keep archives of the dead, and are considered guardians to the Nobles' crypts and graveyards. It is also not unheard of in the past for the Ankou to be sent out to hunt the fae for their blood or parts for studies.
With that said, they are not a large number in the cast of the Noble and the bear the tasks that most humans or other races would not feel comfortable doing, such as collecting the bodies of the dead and studying them in the abandoned churches left behind by the Human races. They are only out during the evening until the late night, and at latest the early morning.
They can be seen as lurkers or thought of as harmless in the halls of their master that they serve. They are honorable and protective of the Nobles and and can become quite aggressive and moody if provoked. It has been rumored that those who do so and do not show respect or kindness have been found dead the next day. But these have only been rumors, and no one has yet to see proof.
STRENGTHS
Cold Iron Cast
(Passive) Being that an Ankou's original origin is that of a Fae hunter, all their weapons are cast with cold iron, which is an extremely rare make but is found in the deep vaults of the Nobles safe homes. Once beings of such origins, they are no longer bothered by cold iron and those pierced by their scythe or any weapon made by such material will find that their wounds will take longer to heal. Fae will become severely ill depending on how much of the cold iron is taken in or handled. (Lesser damage is swelling of an extreme nature for any Fae who holds onto such items for longer then needed.)
WEAKNESS
Lighted Sound
(Passive) Ankou do not take well to cheerful sounds and light that comes with it, as they are creatures that tend to seek solitude or tend to the needs of the master they work for. Long exposures to these pleasant activities or light will intensify their mood, whipping them into a darker state and causing them to become more aggressive than they wish to be. They do not like to be around most other races.

Shadow Souls
(Active) Ankou can conjure/summon up to four shadows of themselves for such idle tasks as help carrying things around during studies or into situations that may involve combat. In such case it is used to confuse the attacker and make it difficult to find the real one. (Requires a roll of 50 or higher to be defined as a success - and is only allowed once per 24hrs if successful.)
Gripping Gaze
(Active) Eyes will flash a cold red glow in an attempt to paralyze the person with fear. (Requires a roll of 50 or higher to be defined as a success - and is only allowed once every 24hrs)
Skeletal Spawn
(Active) Can re-animate skeletons as a tool for combat, or for minor work reasons. This must be done near a graveyard or fallen (players that have accepted death/end of their character OOCly first). (Requires a success roll of at least 30 and only limited to two spawns in their RP post.)
Unnatural Aura
(Passive) Those who are around an Ankou will feel a cold feeling come over them and will feel uneasy.
Detect Evil
(Active) Even though already themselves they are considered a dark/evil creature, they are still able to detect others or evil wards/waves emitting from something at will. (Requires a roll 30 or higher to be considered a success. Also depends on RP and storyline and OOC consent of the person/group if it is a person/item in someone's possession etc.)
APPEARANCE
Ankou are allowed two forms. Their real form which is basically a cloaked/robed skeleton. Also a 'human' form to mold in with others if need be, even if they are not fond of gatherings. If in human form they appear thin, with muted hair colors or black or white at most. It is hard to tell what they wear in the first place outside of robes.
