Fae Stones
Along the edge of the border separating the forest from the human village lies a ring of odd looking stones embedded with strange, glowing symbols. These are the fae stones placed down by the Queen of the Forestfolk in order to stop the toxins from going into the human village and harming those that have not had prolonged exposure to the harmful toxins. But, even then, the protection by these stones is seen as a privilege, for if the humans were to revert back to their old ways on a path of destruction and become a threat to the Forestfolk, the Queen, without hesitation, would order to have the stones removed so that the toxins could spread to those in the human village.
The forest dwellers are already immune to the toxins given off by the plants and trees, but the stones add extra protection to the Queen and her people from any unknown human toxins they have not yet been exposed to. But, once they are out of the forest and away from the protection of the stones, they are vulnerable to poisons and other toxins not made by the forest.
If humans were to enter the forest, they are not under the protection of the fae stones, and will begin to feel their health diminish the longer they are exposed to the toxins.
