Gorgon
Some believe these creatures to be the offspring of Dragons and Lamia, while others believe they are women cursed for some perceived, often tragic, mistake. The second is more widely believed due to the Gorgons' often bitter and vengeful nature. None of this has ever been confirmed though, as the Gorgons are very secretive of their origins, keeping whatever sad tale brought them into being to themselves and a rare few close trusted allies. They are more often than not female, though the rare Gorgon male has been seen from time to time.
They are often accompanied by snakes, woven in their hair, wrapped around their waist like a belt or their arms like bracelets, some refer to them as familiars while others simply call them friends. Snakes are drawn to them, like moths to the flame. The Gorgons also take on many traits of the snake from their sometimes fork tongues to the scales that often pepper their skin, even their eyes sometimes take on the unnatural yellowish hue with slitted pupils. Thought they can still be beautiful in their humanoid attributes. Some will even go so far as to say that the Gorgons take on the personality of their snake companions, slithering from place to place barely seen, biting the hand that once fed them and eating their prey, whoever that unfortunate soul might be, whole. Their most known and talked about skill though is their ability to freeze someone with a mere glance. No not turning them into stone as some legends say but rather freeze their muscles for a short period of time.
The Gorgons have a long standing feud with any and all water creatures, even those who now count themselves as Outcasts, each has their own reason behind it but it is a trait they all share. As is their dislike for those of the opposite sex, it is believed this goes back to the legends of one of the first Gorgons who was cursed after being raped by a water creature. It is also held as a truth than when one Gorgon di they all feel it and their cries of mourning are enough to drive the strongest of strong running for their life. But again those are merely legends and not fact.
Strength
Frozen Gaze
(Active) Their gaze can freeze another's body, literately freezing the muscles. This is a trait that can be turned off and on, not something that affects everyone they look at. Though they must make direct contact with the other person's eyes. The gaze also worked better on ones of the opposite sex than it does on ones of the same sex. (This trait lasts 3 posts and must be rolled. For a roll against the same sex you must roll higher than a 65, for rolls against the opposite sex you must roll higher than a 50 to succeed. This does not count the Hierarchy Dice Stacking.)
Weakness
Socially Awkward
(Passive) The Gorgons are a very secretive, sometimes unsocial creatures. Because of this they are awkward around people, most of all those of the opposite sex. Some will not even speak to one of the opposite sex. Gorgons are not charismatic people. They are often oblivious of social graces or manners, leaving them on the outside of most circles.
Skills
(Remember pick two of the five)
Poison Bite
(Active) Again like the snake friends some Gorgons have a poisonous bite, what the poison does or how it works in the system is different with each that has it. (This affect can be short or long term but it must be rolled, you must roll higher than a 50 to succeed. If it is to be a long term affect it must be rolled to determine how long it lasts, as in each or every couple of hours you must roll again to see if it sticks. This does not count the Hierarchy Dice Stacking.)
Medusa Blood
(Passive) This skill allows a Gorgon to be immune to the Froze Gaze of other Gorgons, though this also means that they will be immune to yours.
Serpent Summoning
(Active) In a fight or time when the Gorgon feels threatened they can call on their serpent friends to aid them. They can be used to attack or defend ones self. (You must roll to see if A. the summoning worked. B. How many are summoned and C. if you can control their actions. You must roll higher than a 50 for it to succeed both for A & C, if you succeed at summoning but fail at controlling their actions they will come and merely watch the fight for three posts before you can roll again. If they use the snakes to attack you must also roll to see if your attack does damage. For B. You will roll and for ever 10 that will be one snake. So say you roll a 33, that's three snakes that will answer your summoning or you could roll 100 and have 10 answer. But if you roll a 47 it is still only four. You are going by 10 in this.)
Stealth
(Active) Thanks to their snake like nature, slithering unnoticed is second nature to some Gorgons, letting them move with little more than the sound of rustling of grass left behind them. This comes in handy to those who choose to hunt for a living or work as thieves. (You must roll higher than a 50 to succeed and the height the roll the more silent you are, again this goes by ten, always rounding down, so a 69 is still a 60 is how silent you are.)
Hallucinations
(Active) As a secondary or primary attack this can be used while using frozen gaze though it tends to drain the Gorgon the longer they use it while using the frozen gaze. If the frozen gaze fails this can still be used, it can be used without tying frozen gaze. (If using after a failed frozen gaze you can roll with your next post a.e. The one after the fail, but you must roll higher than a 60.) The hallucinations will cause the victim to believe they are being attacked by snakes, or that the snakes are merely slithering all over them(feel free to be creative about it!) (when used independently, you must roll higher than a 50 to succeed. And it will only last two posts after the cast unless you roll before the third, if not they will dissipate in the third post. It will also become draining past three posts.)
